What type of speakers work best with the Soul Cycle Head Unit?
It's important to pick speakers with the good bass response and high efficiency. The Soul Cycle head unit is not designed to be used with a separate subwoofer. It's designed for one or two pairs of standard left/right pair of speakers. For technical folks, the lowest impedance it can handle safely is 4 Ohms.
If you want to get good bass out of your system, look for pair of speakers with 6" or larger woofers. Larger speakers are often more efficient and have better bass. But they are more difficult to carry on a bicycle, so there's a tradeoff. If you're buying new speakers, look at the 'SPL' or 'efficiency' rating. It should be over 90 db. The higher the better.
You can use any unpowered full-range bookshelf speakers or car-audio speakers. What's the difference between powered and unpowered speakers? Powered speakers plug directly into the wall and have an audio input. Most computer/multimedia speakers are powered. Unpowered speakers require an amplifier (often referred to as a receiver in home audio) to power them. They typically only have two inputs on the back. Often these are spring loaded inputs designed to take speaker wire. If your speakers look like this, they will work with the Soul Cycle Head Unit.
